This article offers a systematic view of social analysis that will advance the communication of results between different academic disciplines. It overcomes misunderstandings that are due to the use of an unstructured variety of methodological traditions in the analysis of complex socioeconomic and political processes. The article focuses on the main features of human society: human as subjects, non repetitiveness and irreversibility of social action, and the peculiar relations between necessity and possibility in human action. It defines methodological criteria, procedures and rules that enable researchers to select and classify reliable hypotheses to derive general principle and basic organizational features,
In particular, with regard to the economy the article underlines the importance of a representation of the whole economic system centered on the interrelationships between entrepreneurship, innovation and radical uncertainty in a dynamic competition process.
The article also shows the possibility of a scientific explanation of important ethical principles as indispensable to the organizational efficiency of the social system: for instance, the necessity and the way to conciliate productive efficiency, social justice and individual freedom.
